Coastal Inspiration

This is probably one of my faves to date, we were thrilled that it was featured on both 100 Layer Cake and Pottery Barn's blog!  Faria Beach is a very special place to our family, we wanted to embrace this amazing view, but did not want to do a "typical" beach theme.  We decided to use elements that would pop against the beautiful blue, grey & sand palette.  Enter my current obsession with bougainvillea - it was the perfect contrast to pair with the blushes, peaches & magentas that we decided to use for the florals.  It grows everywhere in Ventura County, so it made sense to incorporate it into our local photo shoot.  Anna Delores Photography killed it with these amazing photos, that Lady knows how to use light like no other!

I love when I have the freedom to create something unexpected.  This bouquet was a dream!

Crystal Huber Makeup got to work with Brooke who is beautiful beyond words!

 Love these Pottery Barn pillows!

A Charming Occasion added the straw mats under a painted pallet for a fun seating alternative.

MJB Cakes is a baking genius.  Seriously, her stuff is always delicious & always gorgeous!

The gloom that day was perfect, we couldn't have asked for better weather!

Spanish Flair, Santa Barbara Historical Museum

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, we are featuring our dear friends Krista & Alan who got married in September at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum.  This was a special wedding for us as Scott was the Best Man and I got to be a guest!  Charlotte was 3 weeks old and was strapped to me while my team and I set up for this gorgeous spanish inspired wedding.  Krista and her mom didn't leave any details out, and as a result, I Heart My Groom captured this beautiful, romantic wedding, enjoy!
It is always fun when my Brides want color!
The wooden tables with the cobalt blue and colorful florals were to die for!
Krista collected various cobalt blue vessels for a year, totally worth it!
They were married under a simple, understated arch made with seeded eucalyptus.
Dahlias, Roses, Succulents & Thistle covered the cake.
Blue thistle was placed in each napkin for a finishing touch.
Lounge Furniture with mexican blankets gave a cozy place for us to relax with our margaritas!
The Santa Barbara Historical Museum is absolutely stunning at night too!  Can't wait for our next wedding there in June with Robin Sonner Events (805-687-3345)

Pure Glamour at the Four Seasons, Biltmore

Amanda & Nico were married in January at the Santa Barbara Mission and the reception was held at the Four Seasons, Biltmore, Santa Barbara.  Amanda could not have planned a more glamorous affair with lots of sparkly details, while also being the sweetest and most laid back Bride.  Meghan Christine Photography took gorgeous photographs and Tricia Dahlgren Events helped make the event run seamlessly.
We attached her family rosary to her bouquet.
White peonies, hydrangea and garden roses made this bouquet smell absolutely divine.
You may recognize one of our former Brides, we love referrals - thank you Brianne!!!!
The Santa Barbara Mission is absolutely amazing, a true piece of art!
The Mother's wore a simple china mum as a fun alternative to the traditional corsage.
 Ummm, they are perfect.
Seriously, don't we all dream of a veil like that, and that dress.  It is my favorite of all time.
The escort cards sat on a bed of white flowers.
Gold, sparkles and luxe white flowers.  What more can you ask for?
I get so giddy when my Brides use La Tavola linens, is there anything prettier?
Rose petals and A LOT of candles lined the head table - so romantic!
Cheers to your happily ever after Amanda & Nico, thank you for letting me be a part of your beautiful day!

a simple & fun DIY arrangement

Everyone loves a good DIY, and this is a simple arrangement that anyone can put together using a combination of flowers from the flower mart (or your local grocery store) and ferns from your backyard (or your neighbor's yard - we won't tell...)
We used the following ingredients in this arrangement:
                                                     ~ (1) fun vase
~ (1) bunch of white sweet peas
~ (5) stems of white ranunculus
~ (6) stems of safari sunset
~ (5) stems of leather fern
~ (5) stems of sword fern
                                                     ~ A few salal leaves
Tip #1:  Always try to use the freshest flowers you can find to maximize vase life.  Pass on even the prettiest flowers if you see any moldy leaves on stems.
We started out by creating a "grid" using the stems of the ferns - you can also achieve this by taping a grid on the vase (may be easier for beginners to hold stems in place).  Fun greenery is so "in" right now and you can use so many different types to create depth and texture and then add your favorite color for a bang!
Next, we used the safari sunset to create our shape.  We then filled in with the white sweet peas to create a full, whimsical element.
To finish, we added the white ranunculus, filling in any holes and making the arrangement pop.
Tip #2: Cut stems at an angle to create most surface space to absorb fresh water.
Tip #3:  Look at the arrangement from all angles to make sure there are no "holes" if so, simply add a bloom to fill.  If this is a one-sided arrangement, cluster all your blooms in front, so you don't waste them in the "back" if they will be unseen against a wall.

Most importantly, have fun with it!!!
Thank you Emily for a fun day at the studio and these great pictures!

Orange, Cream & Blush at Spanish Hills

Caitlin and Andrew's beautiful Spanish Hills Wedding was published in the winter issue of Beautiful Bride Magazine with photographs from Gavin Wade Photographers.  Below are some of the gorgeous details from their special day!
Shades of orange were accented with creams, blush and muted greens.
The orange Bridesmaid bouquets popped against their navy dresses.
 Caitlin was absolutely stunning.
We placed amazing blooms in fun different clear & white textured vases.
Loved the gorgeous blooms we used.
The aisle had thick white petals & were lined with hanging vases that we later re-used in the reception.
 Ceremony details.
Olive branch wreaths with Juliet Garden Roses hung on the Bride & Groom's chairs.
Amour.

Colorful Spanish Hills Country Club Wedding

Hana & Jesus were married in September at Spanish Hills Country Club, they are the sweetest couple ever and I loved that they let me go for it with the bright colors!  Priscila Valentina Photography was able to capture the vibrant colors perfectly!  Hana is not only super cool, but she has mad style - she runs a life & style blog, Gold Polka Dots, make sure to check it out!
These colors!!!
One of my favorite bridal bouquets.
One more shot.
The guests held banners for them to exit the church, super fun & festive!
Centerpieces were full of large, bright blooms in gold pedestal vases.
 Love.
The sweetheart table, such a beautiful couple!!!
